NCL Epic
NORWEGIAN EPIC
Some say the brand new Norwegian Epic is a ship that will change the way people experience cruising. Sailing from Miami on alternating 7 night itineraries, the Norwegian Epic visits Cozumel, Roatan and Costa Maya on the Western cruise and St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau on the Eastern voyage.
But this may be one ship you don’t want to get off to explore the islands! Designed with endless choices from stateroom selections to dining options to entertainment venues, this ship is special! There is NO BORING on the Norwegian Epic!
For starters, the Epic is home to the award winning Blue Man Group, creating an unforgettable experience through music, comedy and multi-media theatrics. If you’ve always wanted to see them, but never had the chance, the Epic is your ticket!
So what makes the Epic so spectacular? Let’s begin with the Aqua Park, a full-fledged waterpark, complete with 3 multi-level water slides with varying thrill factors. For the not-so-adventurous, the slide zips through the rock climbing wall! The Epic plunge is the only tube slide at sea with a thrilling drop through a 200 ft tube into a pool.
A little too exciting for you? If your bowling isn’t what it used to be, try one of the 2 bowling alleys on board (you can always blame that gutter ball on the gentle sway of the ship). At night, Bliss Ultra Lounge becomes an adults-only activity area which takes on a whole new look with special effects, lighting and illuminated neon colored balls. If you prefer Wii bowling, there’s also a 2 story Wii wall!
Inspired by the ice hotels in Scandinavia, the Epic’s Ice Bar is one of only 14 ice bars in the world, and the only one at sea. Enter a glistening, frozen fantasy land where the bar, stools, tables, walls and sculptures are all carved out of ice. Winter coats are provided, so no need to pack yours!
Looking for something a little hotter? Hit Spice H2O, a Latin-inspired beach club by day and an adults only dance club by night. With non-stop music, a giant screen with hypnotic visuals and aerial acrobats, you’ll be delighted you’re old enough not to have a curfew!
If you like entertainment while dining, the Epic’s Speigel Tent featuring the Cirque Dreams and Dinner is for you! The combined restaurant and show, with a one-ring, red and white striped bigtop, is filled with acrobatics, comedy and specialty acts. The Manhattan Room, a two story Art Deco dining room highlights live music and a large dance floor.
NCL’s Norwegian Epic, home of “Freestyle Dining”, offers an amazing 14 dining options, from the Teppanyaki Japanese Steakhouse to O’Sheehans Neighborhood Bar & Grill to La Cucina Italian Restaurant. The large main dining room has been replaced with smaller, more intimate eateries offering a variety of menu choices.
The Epic promises the “next level of freestyle cruising”, with endless choices in entertainment and dining. You won’t want to get off the ship! In addition to the award winning Blue Man Group featured as their headline production, the Epic’s Speigel Tent offers “Cirque Dreams and Dinner” a one-ring theatre with acrobatics, comedy and specialty acts.
Norwegian Cruise Lines has the widest choice of accommodations at sea, Courtyard Villas, Courtyard Penthouses, a variety of Suites and tons of Balcony Staterooms—and the Norwegian Epic gives you more selection than ever before! If you haven’t tried cruising because you don’t want to be “stuck” in a small cabin, it’s time to try NCL!
When I first toured the Courtyard Villas on NCL, besides being wowed by the size and configuration, my initial thought was “who would sail in these cabins?” But as I later learned, these cabins are ideal for anyone planning a family reunion or just a couples/friends getaway. Butler and Concierge Services are included in all of the Courtyard Villa cabins, in addition to use of the exclusive Courtyard area, with a private pool, 2 hot tubs, gym, saunas, sundeck, dining and a private bar and nightclub. The Courtyard Villas have a combined living/dining area, a separate children’s bedroom and 2 luxurious baths. The Courtyard Penthouses include all of the features of the Villas, but accommodate only 2 passengers. What a great way to experience cruising!
If you’re interested in a Spa Vacation, the Epic offers Spa Suites for a “total Spa experience”. Complete with Butler service and access to the Courtyard amenities, the Spa Suite features a stateroom hot tub, domed ceiling and mood lighting, and new to cruise ship cabins: curved walls. With exclusive access to the Mandarin Spa and fitness center, you’ll feel pampered like never before!
If you want to bring the family along, but your budget doesn’t allow for a Courtyard Villa, the Epic has more connecting staterooms than any other ship afloat, giving you more space and plenty of privacy! Most of the Family accommodations are close to the Kids Crew Zone, the activity center for all ages of kids! And remember, the Epic also has an Aqua Park, a full-fledged waterpark complete with 3 multi-level water slides, a rock climbing wall and 2 bowling alleys on board. So there’s no excuse for not having fun!
NCL has also “revamped” their Inside Cabins with windows to the corridor and a new keycard access to the “Living Room”, a two story private lounge with concierge, bar and 2 large screen TVs. It’s a great place to relax and read a book or have a quiet drink before dinner.
All of the Oceanview cabins on the Epic are balconies! That’s a testament to the fact that once you try a balcony cabin, you’ll always want a balcony. The “New Wave” cabins have contemporary curved walls, contour lighting, domed ceilings that make it feel like a skylight and separate shower and commode areas. Many of the New Wave cabins are connecting, so families can travel together, but have separate space.
The Norwegian Epic’s arrival offers you and your family unequalled variety and excitement for your cruise vacation. You’ll love experiencing this fantastic ship! Call or email me today to begin planning your own adventure aboard the NCL Norwegian Epic!
